Swiss Travel Clock, circa 1830

A travel clock signed "August Courvoisier à Chaux-de-Fonds" on the dial. It features a movement and a striking mechanism that chimes the hours and quarters in grande sonnerie on two bells. At night (from 10 PM), the striking mechanism automatically switches to petite sonnerie, chiming only the hours without the quarters. The movement includes an exceptional chronometer escapement. The dial shows four functions: time, alarm, date, and seconds. Two blued Breguet hands indicate the time. The case is finely engraved with floral motifs and retains its original gilding, and has faceted glass panels. A button on top activates the striking repetition mechanism. The clock has doors at both the front and back. Dimensions: height (including handle) 20 cm, width 11 cm, depth 10 cm.
