Standing English Clock by Joseph Windmills, circa 1710

An oak case veneered with walnut root wood. Above the dial is an open-cut acajou strip, designed to enhance the audibility of the bell's chime. The corners feature pillars adorned with bronze ornaments. The movement includes a striking mechanism that chimes fully only on the hours. This eight-day movement is regulated by a long pendulum. The brass dial includes date and seconds indications and blued iron hands. It is surrounded by a silvered numeral ring. Four gilded corner pieces are placed around the numeral ring. The case measures 211 cm in height, 49 cm in width, and 26 cm in depth.
