French Mantelclock Louis xv

French cartel, signed Gosselin à Paris 1750

Brass case with original gilt, height 36 cm, width 20 cm, depth 14 cm. Symmetrical built case with on the top a couple of pigeons in love , brass trellis-work on both sides and green velvet behind. This clock was most likely a wedding gift. The back of the clock is also nicely finished, the back plate is signed.

The movement runs for two weeks and strikes the hours and half-hours on a clear bell.
